ObjectivesIndividual Learning Session: Critical Incidents
At the end of this session you will:- be able to relate what they have learned in this session to their prior learning on "challenging behaviour" and positive behavioural support (PBS)
- be able to explain a five stage model which sequences the events which a person experiences when a critical incident occurs
- have had opportunities to apply their learning to a real case
- have had opportunities to explore and evaluate their own employer's/ organisation's policy and practice guidance in relation to some of the topics covered
- have an opportunity to assess their future learning and development needs in relation to the topics covered
The learning objectives in this session link in to the following units:- Childrens Induction Standards:
- 3.5 Personal safety and security:
- a - Know about the range of challenging behaviours presented by particular children and young people you work with
- b - Understand how you manage challenging behaviour
- c - Understand how you encourage positive behaviour
