Objectives

Group Learning Session: Mental Health Acts 1983 and 2007 - Amendments and reformed practice

At the end of this session the candidates will:

  • have refreshed your knowledge of the 1983 Act
  • have an awareness of the changes made by the 2007 Act
  • know the application of the changes to practice
  • have an awareness of changes to other legislation
  • have examined the way in which the amended 1983 Act works alongside the Mental Capacity Act 2005
