ObjectivesIndividual Learning Session: Equality Act 2010
At the end of this session you will:- Summarise the scope of the Equality Act 2010 and how it applies to work and service provision in health and/or social care settings
- Identify who is protected by the Equality Act 2010
- Explain and recognise the types of unlawful conduct under this legislation and how to prevent them from occurring
- Know the action which a person can take together with the assistance and resources they can use if they have experienced unlawful discrimination (or other forms of unlawful conduct under the Equality Act)
- Explain the Public Sector Equality Duty and how it must be applied
- Know the purpose of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Equality Advisory Support Service and how to use their resources
- Know the definition of hate crime and the legislation which applies to it
- Apply and integrate what they have learned to their practice and be able to evidence it
- Identify further learning needs in relation to the topics covered
