Individual Learning Session: Intercountry Adoption Law in England and Wales

At the end of this session you will:

  • understand the principles and requirements of an intercountry adoption which takes place under the Hague Convention for intercountry adoption
  • understand the areas of law which are relevant if the intercountry adoption is between England or Wales and a state which is not contracted to the Hague Convention on intercountry adoption
  • understand the immigration implications of both types of intercountry adoption and the routes to the child gaining British citizenship
