ObjectivesGroup Learning Session: Pressure Ulcer Prevention
At the end of this session the candidates will:- Be able to explain the risk factors associated with pressure ulcers.
- Be able to identify pressure damage.
- Be able to explain why it is important for a person at risk of developing a pressure ulcer to keep moving and repositioning.
- Understand the difference between a moisture lesion and a pressure ulcer.
- Know strategies for preventing moisture lesions and pressure ulcers.
- Know the importance of nutrition in the prevention of pressure ulcers.
- Know the principles of treatment for moisture associated skin damage.
- Have had the opportunity to consider any further learning and development needs in relation to the topics covered.
